Sounds of A Little Mermaid

I need to figure out how to add a recording to this blog. Grace has always loved to sing but now she is attempting to sing a little out of her league. I've mentioned she loves the Disney movies. She also loves the song "Gloria Inexcelsisdeo" (not sure how to spell that) by the Mo Tab on one of their Christmas CDs that Grandma Kathy gave to us after Grace showed an interest this last holiday season. It plays in our car quite often. Grace is attempting to imitate Ariel from "The Little Mermaid" and goes around the house singing the song she sings as her voice is taken from her by Ursala. I try not to laugh because her face is so serious and she is trying so hard. I have it recorded as a voice recording and on video. She will love it when she gets older. Maybe she will be a soprano singer. I would love it!
The kids are going to Oma's this weekend while Justin and I go to Lake Tahoe for Amy Sato's wedding. We are excited to have a weekend to ourselves. I am a little nervous about leaving Kate for a couple days but know she will be fine. Who knows why we feel guilty about leaving our kids for more than a couple hours. It should be a great trip. We are sharing a condo with all my girl friends and their spouses. We have a river raft trip planned and hope to do a little biking, seadooing and relaxing. I can't wait!

Time to Start Documenting

Grace is three now and is starting to say the funniest stuff. I thought this would be a good way for us to keep a record of our family's activities and funny moments. I am going to have to go back a week to Wednesday, July 8th. It important to put this down because it is one of the funniest things Grace has said to date. I can't stop laughing about it. So, remember she just turned 3. She is obsessed with wearing princess costumes and watching any Disney princess or Barbie movie. I admit she is probably watching a little too much but it really keeps the house clean and quiet! :) Justin and I had a wedding that night and Meagan McMullin had offered to watch my girls. I told Grace earlier in the day that I was taking them to Aiden's house to play and go to bed. Grace responded "Then I can marry Aiden!" I don't argue, so I agreed. "Yes you can." Then she said......."Then I can be Mary and have baby Jesus in my tummy!" I couldn't believe it. I obviously don't give her enough credit. She is smart! She not only learns a lot but she rationally put together that you get married then have babies. What a girl!
As for the rest of us. Kate is the cutest. She is obsessed with her pink blanket that her great grandma Ione made for her and drags it around everywhere. Jo and Stephen have started to call her (I can't remember the name) after the snoppy character who drags the blanket around everywhere with a puff of dirt following. It is very fitting. She likes to put on Grace's pink Crocs over her shoes (it's the only way the fit) and walk around. She will be so happy when she can finally put them on by herself. She keeps on trying though!
I just did my second triathlon on Saturday with not much improvement on my time. But, I felt better and ran the whole time instead of stopping to walk like I had on the first. Sounds great but the course was much easier on this last one. Taylor and Justin did it too! Justin is very happy to have me doing these. We have fun going to the gym together to swim and I am much more willing to let him spend the time doing this than I have in the past. He did his first Olympic distance in May and will probably do some more this summer.
I had my first tennis lesson this morning since grade school. A group of us are taking Monday mornings over at the Church's. It's fun and I am happy to be doing so many extra curricular things.
